NEVERILL is part of the General Health Subscale, which consists of five questions rating the child's health on a 5-point scale. Response options are: "Definitely True," "Mostly True," "Don't Know", "Mostly False," and "Definitely False." In addition to NEVERILL, questions on the General Health Subscale are:
- LESSHLTHY: Less healthy than other children
- EASYILL: Child gets sick easily
- HLTHYLIFE: Expect child to have healthy life
- WRYHLTH: Worry about child's health more than normal
