DIARESPOND
Respondent status for diabetes supplement

Description

For all persons given the Diabetes Care Survey (DCS) and have been told they have diabetes, DIARESPOND indicates whether the Diabetes Care Survey was completed by the individual with diabetes or by a proxy.

Notes about Universe

In 2010, there is one case in which an individual answered "yes" to being told they have diabetes, but they are marked out of universe for DIARESPOND. Otherwise, the stated universe in the Universe tab holds true.

DIARESPOND is one of a set of variables comprising the DCS, a supplemental, self-administered pencil-and-paper survey about how respondents treat their diabetes. For related variables and more information, please see DIACONF.
