Description

For all dental visits (EVENTYPE = 5), DENTRSTRX indicates if the visit included restorative services: fillings, inlays, crowns, or caps. DENTRSTRX is the edited version of DENTRSTR; values for DENTRSTRX and DENTRSTR are identical except for cases where the value of DENTRSTRX was updated to reflect information about services received at the dental visit reported in DENTOTH. DENTRSTRX was introduced in 2017; in previous years, information about whether the visit included fillings, inlays, crowns or caps was offered in the variables DENTFLNGX, DENTINLAY, and DENTCRWNSX, respectively.

DENTRSTRX is one of a set of dental visit variables reporting the type of dental provider seen, the dental services received, and the total expenditures overall and by payment source associated with each dental visit.
