CNESOP
Ever had cancer: Esophagus

Description

For persons ages 18 and older who have ever been diagnosed as having cancer or a malignancy of any kind (CANCEREV), CNESOP indicates if the type of cancer diagnosed was cancer of the esophagus. CNESOPAG and CNESOPRMS indicate the age the individual was diagnosed with esophageal cancer and whether the cancer is in remission, respectively.

This variable is only available in 2010 and 2011 because MEPS suppressed any cancer types with too low of frequency counts from the public use file. For related variables and more information about the cancer variables included in MEPS, please see CNBLAD.
