Description
For all eligible persons, CVDEVER indicates if they have ever been diagnosed with COVID-19. People who answered 'yes' to CVDEVER were then asked further questions about the timing of their last COVID infection and whether they experienced symptoms of Long COVID.
COVID-19 and long COVID were added to the MEPS in 2022 as a Priority Condition.
Questions about COVID-19 were administered in Panel 24 Round 9, Panel 26 Round 5, and Panel 27 Round 3.
IPUMS MEPS reports the universe for each variable based on a thorough review of the original MEPS documentation. Investigating the data may reveal cases that do not meet the stated universe. Users are encouraged to validate universes for their analyses.
