For children ages 0 to 17 who have ever been given advice about how smoking in the house can be bad for the child's health by a doctor or other health provider (SMKADV), SMKADVWHN reports when the doctor or other health provider gave the advice about how smoking in the house can be bad for the child's health.

Beginning in 2018 SMKADVWHN is fielded every other year and will only be collected in even years. See our user note for more details on this and other changes that occurred in 2018.
