Description

For all current and institutionalized persons aged 13 and older who indicated they had a functional limitation (LMTPHYS), LMTWALK indicates how difficult it is for the person to walk 3 city blocks (about a quarter of a mile). Respondents were asked to choose 'no difficulty,' 'some difficulty,' 'a lot of difficulty,' or 'completely unable to do it.'

Collection frequency and timing for LMTWALK change over time. This question was fielded annually from 2017-2019 and 2022 forward. In other years, this it was fielded more than once per year and those responses are recorded in the round-level variable LMTWALKRD.
