MEPS unique identifier (AHRQ generated), condition record
Description
For all conditions, DUPERSIDX is an AHRQ-generated identifier created by combining DUIDX and PIDX. From 1996-2017, DUPERSIDX uniquely identifies records within a panel. To uniquely identify records across all MEPS panels, please see the variable description for MEPSIDX. Beginning in 2018, DUPERSIDX uniquely identifies records across panels due to changes in the construction of DUIDX to add PANELX to the first two digits of the DUIDX identifier.
Codes
From 1996-2017, DUPERSIDX is an 8-digit numeric variable. Beginning in 2018, DUPERSIDX is a 10-digit numeric variable.
Universe
- 1996-2017: All current conditions.
- 2018-2022: All current conditions that link to an event or prescribed medicine record during the calendar year.
