Description

For all dental visits (EVENTYPE = 5), DENTRCLVISX indicates if the visit included periodontal recall (periodic or regular). DENTRCLVISX is the edited version of DENTRCLVIS; values for DENTRCLVISX and DENTRCLVIS are identical except for cases where the value of DENTRCLVISX was updated to reflect information about services received at the dental visit reported in DENTOTH. Beginning in 2017, information about whether the visit included dental cleaning, prophylaxis, or polishing (DENTCLNX) was combined with information about whether the visit included periodontal recall in the variable DENTCLNRCLX.

DENTRCLVISX is one of a set of dental visit variables reporting the type of dental provider seen, the dental services received, and the total expenditures overall and by payment source associated with each dental visit.
