Description
For eligible adults in Rounds 1, 3, and 5 (ELIGRD and ROUNDRD) aged 18+ who had ever been diagnosed with COVID-19 (CVDEVERRD) and is not deceased (PSTATSRD), CVDLONGRD indicates whether they have had symptoms lasting three months or longer that they did not have prior to having COVID-19.
MEPS began treating Long COVID as a Priority Condition in 2022 (for more information about how MEPS defines Priority Conditions, please see PRTYCOND). For more information about COVID-related variables, see the description for CVDEVER.
Children under the age of 18 were asked the series of questions about Long COVID, but their responses have been suppressed for confidentiality reasons. In the IPUMS, these children are coded as Not in Universe.
