For persons who asked for their health records from a health care provider outside the VA in the past 12 months (VETVOUTVAASKREC), VETVOUTVAGETREC indicates how often the respondent obtained those records as soon as they needed. Answer choices include "Never", "Sometimes", "Usually", and "Always".

This variable is part of the Veteran Self-Administered Questionnaire (VSAQ), which was fielded in 2018 and 2019 and collected information on veterans' health conditions and health care services.
