Description

For all dental visits (EVENTYPE = 5), DENTDTUREX indicates if the visit included dentures or removable partial dentures. DENTDTUREX is the edited version of DENTDTURE; values for DENTDTUREX and DENTDTURE are identical except for cases where the value of DENTDTUREX was updated to reflect information about services received at the dental visit reported in DENTOTH. Beginning in 2017, information about whether the visit included dentures or removable partial dentures was combined with information about whether the visit included fixed bridges (DENTBRDGX) and/or relining or repair of bridges or dentures (DENTRPRX) in the variable DENTPRSTICX.

DENTDTUREX is one of a set of dental visit variables reporting the type of dental provider seen, the dental services received, and the total expenditures overall and by payment source associated with each dental visit.
