Description

For all dental visits (EVENTYPE = 5), DENTBRDGX indicates if the visit included fixed bridges. DENTBRDGX is the edited version of DENTBRDG; values for DENTBRDGX and DENTBRDG are identical except for cases where the value of DENTBRDGX was updated to reflect information about services received at the dental visit reported in DENTOTH. Beginning in 2017, information about whether the visit included fixed bridges was combined with information about whether the visit included dentures or removable partial dentures (DENTDTUREX) and/or relining or repair of bridges or dentures (DENTRPRX) in the variable DENTPRSTICX.

DENTBRDGX is one of a set of dental visit variables reporting the type of dental provider seen, the dental services received, and the total expenditures overall and by payment source associated with each dental visit.
