CHRBRONCRD
Had chronic bronchitis in past 12 months, round

Description

For all current or institutionalized persons aged 18 and older, CHRBRONCRD asks if the respondent has had chronic bronchitis in the previous 12 months. Yes responses do not include people who had single acute bronchitis infections.

Collection frequency for CHRBRONC changes over time. From 2008-2016 this question was asked in rounds 1 and 3 for panels in relative year 1 and rounds 3 and 5 for panels in relative year 2. In 2020 and 2021 this variable was also collected multiple times across the panels extended due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2017-2019 and 2022 forward, this question was only asked once a year and those responses are recorded in the annual-level variable CHRBRONC.

CHRBRONCRD is collected as part of the Priority Conditions Enumeration (PE) section. These conditions were selected due to their relatively high prevalence and because generally accepted standards for appropriate clinical care have been developed.
