Description
For all persons, RXEXPOL captures the sum of direct payments made during the year by other state/local sources for prescribed medications. Other State and local government sources include community and neighborhood clinics, State and local health departments, and State programs other than Medicaid. Payments for over-the-counter drugs and indirect payments not related to specific medical events, such as Medicaid Disproportionate Share and Medicare Direct Medical Education subsidies, are not included in this amount.
