For all persons, ZNFEXSRC is a set of summary expenditure variables indicating the total amount paid for zero-night hospitalizations by source of payment during the current calendar year. By adding ZNFEXSRC to your data cart, you are in effect adding fourteen annual summary zero-night hospitalization expenditure variables. These variables include:

• ZNFEXSELF: Annual total direct health care payments made by self/family for zero-night hospitalizations

• ZNFEXMC: Annual total of direct health care payments made by Medicare for zero-night hospitalizations

• ZNFEXMA: Annual total of direct health care payments made by Medicaid for zero-night hospitalizations

• ZNFEXPR: Annual total of direct health care payments made by private insurance for zero-night hospitalizations

• ZNFEXVA: Annual total of direct health care payments made by the Veterans' Administration for zero-night hospitalizations

• ZNFEXTR: Annual total of direct health care payments made by TRICARE for zero-night hospitalizations

• ZNFEXOF: Annual total of direct health care payments made by other Federal sources for zero-night hospitalizations

• ZNFEXOL: Annual total of direct health care payments made by other State and local sources for zero-night hospitalizations

• ZNFEXWC: Annual total of direct health care payments made by Worker's Compensation for zero-night hospitalizations

• ZNFEXOPR: Annual total of direct health care payments from other private source for zero-night hospitalizations

• ZNFEXOPU: Annual total of direct health care payments from other public source for zero-night hospitalizations

• ZNFEXOS: Annual total of direct health care payments made by other unclassified sources for zero-night hospitalizations

• ZNFEXPTR: Annual total of direct health care payments made by private insurance and TRICARE for zero-night hospitalizations

• ZNFEXOTH: Annual total of direct health care payments made by all other sources for zero-night hospitalizations
