Comparability
In 1996, WHYNOWK2RD only includes persons aged 16 and older who weren't employed during the reference period, but were employed at some point prior to the reference period, and who are eligible in rounds 1 and 2 of data collection; in subsequent years, RUSIZERD is available for all persons aged 16 and older who weren't employed during the reference period, but were employed at some point prior.
Additionally, the categories in the original data changed slightly in 2018. The responses "On temporary layoff," "Wanted some time off," and "Waiting to start new job" are now included in the category "Other" and the response "Don't want to work" was added. Otherwise, this variable is completely comparable across time.
