Description

For persons who have served on active duty in U.S. Armed Forces, Reserves, or National Guard in the past, but not currently (ARMFEV), excluding those who reported that they did not receive any health care services in the VA in the last 12 months (VETVOUTVAWR), VET12MVACARE indicates whether the respondent received care (outside dental visits) from any VA provider in the last year.

This variable is part of the Veteran Self-Administered Questionnaire (VSAQ), which was fielded in 2018 and 2019 and collected information on veterans' health conditions and health care services. Estimates using VSAQ variables should rely on survey weights VETWEIGHT. See ARMFEV for a full list of variables from the VSAQ.
