Description

For veterans (ARMFEV) who visited a primary care provider or Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) at the VA in the last year (VET12MPCPVIS), VET12MNEEDREF indicates whether the respondent needed a referral from their VA PCP/PACT to see a health care provider outside the VA in the last year.

This variable is part of the Veteran Self-Administered Questionnaire (VSAQ), which was fielded in 2018 and 2019 and collected information on veterans' health conditions and health care services.
