Description

For all persons, OPEXPSRC is a set of summary expenditure variables indicating the total amount paid for health care expenditures for care from outpatient medical providers by source of payment during the current calendar year. By adding OPEXPSRC to your data cart, you are in effect adding fourteen annual summary outpatient medical provider expenditure variables. These variables include:

• OPEXPSELF: Annual total direct health care payments made by self/family to outpatient medical providers

• OPEXPMC: Annual total of direct health care payments made by Medicare to outpatient medical providers

• OPEXPMA: Annual total of direct health care payments made by Medicaid to outpatient medical providers

• OPEXPPR: Annual total of direct health care payments made by private insurance to outpatient medical providers

• OPEXPVA: Annual total of direct health care payments made by the Veterans' Administration to outpatient medical providers

• OPEXPTRI: Annual total of direct health care payments made by TRICARE to outpatient medical providers

• OPEXPOF: Annual total of direct health care payments made by other Federal sources to outpatient medical providers

• OPEXPOL: Annual total of direct health care payments made by other State and local sources to outpatient medical providers

• OPEXPWC: Annual total of direct health care payments made by Worker's Compensation to outpatient medical providers

• OPEXPOPR: Annual total of direct health care payments from other private source to outpatient medical providers

• OPEXPOPU: Annual total of direct health care payments from other public source to outpatient medical providers

• OPEXPOS: Annual total of direct health care payments made by other unclassified sources to outpatient medical providers

• OPEXPPTR: Annual total of direct health care payments made by private insurance and TRICARE to outpatient medical providers

• OPEXPOTH: Annual total of direct health care payments made by all other sources to outpatient medical providers
