Comparability
For salaried persons in panel 1 (relative year 1 in 1996 and relative year 2 in 1997), HOURWRKRD reports the number of hours per week on which their salary is based. For non-salaried persons in panel 1 and all in universe persons beginning in panel 2 (relative year 1 in 1997), HOURWRKRD reports the "usual hours worked per week".
Beginning in 2006, the documentation also notes that cases where the person estimated the number of hours worked per week at 35 hours or more, HOURWRKRD was set to 40.
In 1996, HOURWRKRD only includes persons aged 16 and older who have a current main job and are eligible in rounds 1 and 2 of data collection; in subsequent years, HOURWRKRD is available for persons aged 16 and older who are inscope and have a current main job.
