For all persons, EREXPSRC is a set of summary expenditure variables indicating the total amount paid for emergency room visits by source of payment during the current calendar year. By adding EREXPSRC to your data cart, you are in effect adding fourteen annual summary emergency room visit expenditure variables. These variables include:

• EREXPSELF: Annual total direct health care payments made by self/family for emergency room visits

• EREXPMC: Annual total of direct health care payments made by Medicare for emergency room visits

• EREXPMA: Annual total of direct health care payments made by Medicaid for emergency room visits

• EREXPPR: Annual total of direct health care payments made by private insurance for emergency room visits

• EREXPVA: Annual total of direct health care payments made by the Veterans' Administration for emergency room visits

• EREXPTRI: Annual total of direct health care payments made by TRICARE for emergency room visits

• EREXPOF: Annual total of direct health care payments made by other Federal sources for emergency room visits

• EREXPOL: Annual total of direct health care payments made by other State and local sources for emergency room visits

• EREXPWC: Annual total of direct health care payments made by Worker's Compensation for emergency room visits

• EREXPOPR: Annual total of direct health care payments from other private source for emergency room visits

• EREXPOPU: Annual total of direct health care payments from other public source for emergency room visits

• EREXPOS: Annual total of direct health care payments made by other unclassified sources for emergency room visits

• EREXPPTR: Annual total of direct health care payments made by private insurance and TRICARE for emergency room visits

• EREXPOTH: Annual total of direct health care payments made by all other sources for emergency room visits
