Description

For all dental visits (EVENTYPE = 5), DENTRPR indicates if the visit included relining or repair of bridges or dentures. Responses recorded in DENTRPR are unedited; an edited version of DENTRPR is available in DENTRPRX. The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality advises analysts to use the revised versions of the dental visit variables in their analyses but also makes these unedited versions available. Beginning in 2017, information about whether the visit included relining or repair of bridges or dentures was combined with information about whether the visit included fixed bridges (DENTBRDG) and/or dentures or removable partial dentures (DENTDTURE) in the variable DENTPRSTIC.

DENTRPR is one of a set of dental visit variables reporting the type of dental provider seen, the dental services received, and the total expenditures overall and by payment source associated with each dental visit.
