Description

For all dental visits (EVENTYPE = 5), DENTORLSRGX indicates if the visit included oral surgery. DENTORLSRGX is the edited version of DENTORLSRG; values for DENTORLSRGX and DENTORLSRG are identical except for cases where the value of DENTORLSRGX was updated to reflect information about services received at the dental visit reported in DENTOTH. Beginning in 2017, information about whether the visit included oral surgery was combined with information about whether the visit included extraction or a pulled tooth (DENTEXTRCT) in the variable DENTEXTSRGX.

DENTORLSRGX is one of a set of dental visit variables reporting the type of dental provider seen, the dental services received, and the total expenditures overall and by payment source associated with each dental visit.
