For all dental visits (EVENTYPE = 5), DENTGMSRGX indicates if the visit included periodontal scaling, root planning, or gum surgery. DENTGMSRGX is the edited version of DENTGMSRG; values for DENTGMSRGX and DENTGMSRG are identical except for cases where the value of DENTGMSRGX was updated to reflect information about services received at the dental visit reported in DENTOTH.

DENTGMSRGX is one of a set of dental visit variables reporting the type of dental provider seen, the dental services received, and the total expenditures overall and by payment source associated with each dental visit.
