Description

For all dental visits (EVENTYPE = 5), DENTAPPTX indicates if the visit included a general exam, check-up, or consultation. DENTAPPTX is the edited version of DENTAPPT; values for DENTAPPTX and DENTAPPT are identical except for cases where the value of DENTAPPTX was updated to reflect information about services received at the dental visit reported in DENTOTH.

DENTAPPTX is one of a set of dental visit variables reporting the type of dental provider seen, the dental services received, and the total expenditures overall and by payment source associated with each dental visit.
