Description
For adults aged 18+ who responded yes to ever having been diagnosed with COVID-19 (CVDEVER), CVDLONG indicates whether they have had symptoms lasting three months or longer that they did not have prior to having COVID-19.
MEPS began treating Long COVID as a Priority Condition in 2022 (for more information about how MEPS defines Priority Conditions, please see PRTYCOND). CVDLONG is one of a series of questions designed to capture information about Long COVID. For more information about COVID-related variables, see the description for CVDEVER.
Children under the age of 18 were asked the series of questions about Long COVID, but their responses have been suppressed for confidentiality reasons. In the IPUMS, these children are coded as Not in Universe.
