Description
For all persons who were in and were ever diagnosed with asthma (ASTHMAEV or ASTHMARD) and who reported having a peak flow meter at home (ASTHPEAKHM), ASTHPEAKUS reports if the person has ever used their peak flow meter.
Collection frequency and timing for ASTHPEAKUS changes over time. This variable was collected annually in 2003-2006, 2018, 2019, and 2022 forward. In other years, this question was fielded more than once per year and those responses are recorded in the round-level variable ASTHPEAKUSRD.
ASTHPEAKUS is one of several asthma-related questions included in the Priority Conditions Enumeration (PE) section. For a complete list of these variables, please see the variable description for ASTHMAEV.
