Description

For all persons, AMOPTEXOL captures the sum of direct payments made by other State and local government sources for medical care delivered by ambulatory optometrists, including community and neighborhood clinics, State and local health departments, and State programs other than Medicaid. Ambulatory care visits are those that involve medical provider and hospital outpatient combined visits. Payments for over-the-counter drugs and indirect payments not related to specific medical events, such as Medicaid Disproportionate Share and Medicare Direct Medical Education subsidies, are not included in this amount.
