Description
For persons aged 16 and older who are in scope, HIDEGRD reports their highest degree.
AHRQ staff combine information on highest grade completed, high school diploma completion, and highest degree to create this variable. Persons who reported 1 or more year of college, but who replied "no degree" as highest degree are coded as having a high school diploma. Persons with missing data for highest grade and "no degree" reported are coded as having no degree. Discrepancies between rounds and between HIDEGRD and EDUYRRD are not typically cleaned by AHRQ staff and may contain discrepancies.
