Description
For all persons, POUMM is a set of constructed monthly summary health insurance variables indicating whether they were covered by private insurance through a policy held by a non-resident policyholder in a given calendar month.
By adding POUMM to your data cart, you are in effect adding 12 monthly health insurance coverage variables (POUJA-POUDE), one variable for each calendar month.

Codes
This is a 1-digit numeric variable.
Comparability
Beginning in 2018, respondents indicating they had private health insurance through a non-resident policyholder were asked whether it was an employer-sponsored insurance plan or not.
Due to this, there are two new codes: 3 (Yes, employer sponsored insurance) and 4 (Yes, non-employer sponsored insurance). If respondents indicated that they received employer and non-employer sponsored insurance through non-resident policyholder, they were coded as 2 (Yes). The sum of respondents assigned codes 2, 3 and 4 in 2018-forward are largely comparable with 2 (Yes) in 1996-2017.
