Description

For all persons, OBEXPSRC is a set of summary expenditure variables indicating the total amount paid for health care expenditures for care from office-based providers by source of payment during the current calendar year. By adding OBEXPSRC to your data cart, you are in effect adding fourteen annual summary office-based care expenditure variables. These variables include:

• OBEXPSELF: Annual total direct health care payments made by self/family to office-based medical providers

• OBEXPMC: Annual total of direct health care payments made by Medicare to office-based medical providers

• OBEXPMA: Annual total of direct health care payments made by Medicaid to office-based medical providers

• OBEXPPR: Annual total of direct health care payments made by private insurance to office-based medical providers

• OBEXPVA: Annual total of direct health care payments made by the Veterans' Administration to office-based medical providers

• OBEXPTRI: Annual total of direct health care payments made by TRICARE to office-based medical providers

• OBEXPOF: Annual total of direct health care payments made by other Federal sources to office-based medical providers

• OBEXPOL: Annual total of direct health care payments made by other State and local sources to office-based medical providers

• OBEXPWC: Annual total of direct health care payments made by Worker's Compensation to office-based medical providers

• OBEXPOPR: Annual total of direct health care payments from other private source to office-based medical providers

• OBEXPOPU: Annual total of direct health care payments from other public source to office-based medical providers

• OBEXPOS: Annual total of direct health care payments made by other unclassified sources to office-based medical providers

• OBEXPPTR: Annual total of direct health care payments made by private insurance and TRICARE to office-based medical providers

• OBEXPOTH: Annual total of direct health care payments made by all other sources to office-based medical providers
